1. Baraha Chhetra

It situates 20 km away from Dharan on the confluence of Sapta Koshi and Koka River in the Sunsari district of the eastern part of Nepal. It dedicates to the Hindu God Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. According to legend, Lord Vishnu came to this area as the form of white boar and killed an evil demon known as Hiranyakashyapu.

2. Bhedetar

10. Jalpadevi Temple

It dedicates to Goddess Jalpadevi and is located in Chhintang VDC, Dhankuta district. People named this temple ‘Jalpadevi’ because of the belief that Goddess Jalpadevi lies in the water. People also call it Chintangdevi Temple.

11. Hile, Dhankuta

People say that a wise ascetic, ‘Vyasa’ had organized a meeting in the middle of that lake and performed a mythology speech (Puran) to eighty-eight thousand sages in this place, according to the Hindu mythology. So, people named it Savapokhari.

14. Makalu Barun National Park

It covers an area of 1500 km square in Solukhumbu and Sankhuwasabha district. People established it in 1992 that contains four of the five highest mountains in the world.

25. Barju Lake

There are large numbers of wetlands in Nepal, Burju lake is one of them. It is also famous by another name Chimadi Taal. There is an island in the middle of the lake where a temple has been built. 

This lake is located in Barju rural municipality, Sunsari district. It is about 12 km away from Biratnagar, the capital city of Province No.1. We can easily reach here by driving (it takes about 30 minutes from Biratnagar).

Barju lake covers an area of 152 bighas which is a shelter for numerous aquatic birds, amphibians, and fishes. Similarly, it is rich in flora diversity. The Lotus flower is another attraction of this lake. 

This lake is famous for boating and fishing. Students also come here for picnics and to conduct research. The lake area also includes a park for children. They can play many games here like slide, up down swing, etc.
